Patient Preparation: None required.

 

Collect: Serum Separator Tube (SST) - 0.5 ml serum.

Specimen Preparation: Allow specimen to clot (15 min.) completely at room temperature. Separate serum from cells by centrifuging for 10 min.

Storage/Transport Temperature: Refrigerated.

Stability: Refrigerated 1 week, Frozen 2 weeks . Avoid repeated freezing and thawing of the specimen.

Reject Creteria: Mislabeled; broken or damaged tubes, the sample w/o test request.
