Patient Preparation: None required

 

Collect: Serum Separator Tube (SST).

 
Specimen Preparation: Collect blood samples using standard procedures. Allow specimen to clot completely at room temperature. Separate serum from cells ASAP or within 2 hours of collection. 
Storage/Transport Temperature: Room Temperature. 
Stability: After separation of cells: Refrigerated: 1 week ; Frozen: 2 weeks.
Rejection Criteria: Any sample that is mislabeled; the sample without a test request; broken or damaged tubes.
