BasoFunction HRT Acetaminophen

Specimen Required: Collect: Sodium Heparin Tube (Green) - 2 ml. Whole Blood. 
Clinical Utility: The BasoFunction test may be useful with patients who have a suggestive history of adverse reactions to the indicated allergen and for whom skin testing is not appropriate or available.
 
Specimen Preparation: Patients taking calcineurin inhibitors should stop their medication 72 hours prior to draw. 
This test should be collected Monday-Thursday to ensure the specimens is received by the reference lab within stability.
Patients taking prednisone should stop medication for 2 weeks prior to draw. Send original tube.
Storage/Transport: Room Temperature
Stability: Room temperature: 48 hours.
Causes For Rejection: Hemolyzed, frozen or refrigerated blood is not acceptable and will be rejected for testing. Do Not use Lithium Heparin tubes.
