Benzodiazepines Quantitation, Serum or Plasma

Methodology: Quantitative Liquid Chromatography-Tandem Mass Spectrometry

Specimen Required: Collect: Gray (sodium fluoride/potassium oxalate) OR Plain Red OR Green (sodium heparin) OR lavender (EDTA) - 2 ml plasma or serum.
Specimen Preparation: Allow specimen to clot completely at room temperature.
Transfer  serum or plasma to a Standard Transport Tube. 
Storage/Transport Temperature:Refrigerated. 
Unacceptable Conditions: Separator tubes (SST). Plasma or whole blood collected in light blue (sodium citrate). 
Stability: After separation from cells: Ambient: 1 week; Refrigerated: 2 weeks; Frozen: 3 years (Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles)
