Beta-2 Microglobulin, Blood

Methodology: Quantitative Immunoturbidimetry

Reported: 2-3 days
Specimen Required: Collect: Serum Separator Tube (SST) OR Green (sodium or lithium heparin), Lavender                  (EDTA) - 0.5 ml serum or plasma.


Specimen Preparation: Allow specimen to clot completely at room temperature.              Separate serum or plasma from cells ASAP or within 2 hours of collection. Transfer plasma to a Standard Transport Tube.

Storage/Transport Temperature: Frozen.

Unacceptable Conditions: CSF

Stability: After separation from cells: Ambient: 8 hours; Refrigerated: 72 hours; Frozen: 6 months
