| Specimen Required: | Collect: Lavender (EDTA), OR Serum Separator Tube (SST). Amniotic fluid, Bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL), CSF, ocular fluid, Tissue, OR Urine - 1 ml.
Specimen Preparation: Allow specimen to clot completely at room temperature . Separate serum or plasma from cells. Transfer plasma, amniotic fluid, BAL, CSF, ocular fluid, or urine to a sterile container.
Tissue: Transfer to a sterile container and freeze immediately.
Storage/Transport Temperature: FROZEN
Unacceptable Conditions: Whole blood or bone marrow; refer to Cytomegalovirus by PCR, Heparinized specimens. Remarks:Specimen source is required.
Stability: Tissue: Ambient: Unacceptable; Refrigerated: Unacceptable; Frozen: 1 month
