Methodology: Indirect fluorescent antibody (IFA)
Performed: Twice a week
Reported: 3-5 days
Specimen Required: Collect: Serum Separator Tube (SST) OR Red Top Tube - 0.5 ml serum
Specimen Preparation: Allow specimen to clot completely at room temperature . Separate serum from cells ASAP or within 2 hours of collection. If tube other than a gel-barrier tube is used, transfer separated serum to a plastic transport tube. 
Storage/Transport Temperature: Refrigerated 
Causes for Rejection: Lipemic; hemolyzed; microbially-contaminated sera
Stability: After separation of cells: Refrigerated:1 week, Frozen: 30 days
