Specimen Required:

Patient Preparation: None required.

Collect: Serum Separator Tube (SST) - 0.5 ml . 

Specimen Preparation: Follow all precaution for handling biological material. Use all appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Allow blood samples to clot (15 mins). Separate the serum from the cells by centrifuging for 10 minutes. 
Remark: Sample should not be repeatedly frozen and thawed.
Storage/Transport Temperature: Refrigerated (at 2-8°C ).
Stability: After separation of cells: Refrigerated: 2 days , Frozen: 1 month
At Accu Reference: Refrigerated: 2 days; Frozen: 2 weeks.
Remarks: Grossly hemolyzed or lipemic samples as well as samples containing particulate matter or exhibiting obvious microbial contamination are not recommended and should not be tested.
Rejection criteria: Grossly hemolyzed, lipemic, mislabeled, sample without a test request , broken or damaged tube
