Patient Preparation: None required. Collect: Serum Separator Tube (SST). Specimen Preparation: Follow all precaution for handling biological material. Use all appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Allow blood samples to clot (15 mins). Separate the serum from the cells by centrifuging for 10 minutes.
Storage/Transport Temperature: Refrigerated.
Stability: Refrigerated: 3 days at 2–8°C ; Frozen: 1 month at -20°C
At Accu Reference: Refrigerated: 3 days; Frozen: 2 weeks.
Remarks: Avoid use of lipemic, hemolyzed, or contaminated specimens. Do not use heat-inactivated specimens.
Rejection criteria: Grossly hemolyzed, mislabeled, sample without a test request , broken or damaged tube
