| Specimen Required: | Collect: Serum Separator Tube (SST) OR Red top tube - 1 ml serum.
Special Instructions: Identify specimens as acute or convalescent. Acute and convalescent specimens must be submitted on separate test request forms.
Note: This test should not be used to detect H1N1 influenza A virus (swine origin) infection.
Specimen Preparation: Allow specimen to clot completely at room temperature . Separate serum from cells ASAP or within 2 hours of collection.
Storage/Transport Temperature: Refrigerated.
Stability: After separation of cells: Refrigerated: 1 week , Frozen: 1 month
