| Specimen Required: | Collect: Serum Separator Tube (SST) OR Plain Red - 2 ml serum.
Patient Preparation : No specimen should be collected from a patient currently undergoing B12 therapy less than one week after the last B12 injection.
Specimen Preparation: Allow specimen to clot completely at room temperature . Separate serum from cells ASAP or within 2 hours of collection. If a red-top tube is used, transfer separated serum to a plastic transport tube.
Storage/Transport Temperature: Frozen.
