Treponema Pallidum Antibody

Specimen Required:

Patient Preparation: None required.

Collect: Serum Separator Tube (SST)- 0.5 ml serum.

Specimen Preparation: Use all appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
The patient sample should be collected aseptically by venipuncture, allowed to clot, and the serum separated from the clot as soon as possible. Allow blood samples to clot (15 mins).Separate the serum from the cells by centrifuging for10 minutes. 
Storage/Transport Temperature: Refrigerated (at 2-8°C ).
Stability: After separation from cells:  Refrigerated: 1 week, Frozen  2 weeks
Causes for Rejection:  Grossly hemolyzed or lipemic sample.
