| Specimen Required: | patient preparation: Patient gestational age required for Estriol female sample, Menstrual phase required for Estradiol and Estrone female samples. Collect: Red-top tube OR Gel-Barrier tube (SST) OR Green-top (heparin) tube - 0.5 serum or plasma. Specimen Preparation: Allow specimen to clot completely at room temperature . Separate serum from cells ASAP . If tube other than a gel-barrier tube is used, transfer separated serum or plasma to a plastic transport tube.
