Specimen Required: Collect: Serum Separator Tube  (SST) OR Red Top Tube - 1.5 ml serum .
Specimen Preparation: Separate serum or plasma from cells ASAP or within 2 hours of collection. If tube other than a gel-barrier tube is used, transfer separated serum to a plastic transport tube.
Storage/Transport Temperature: Refrigerated. 
Stability: After separation from cells: Refrigerated: 7 days; Frozen: 1 month
Causes for Rejection : Gross lipemia; hemolysis
