Leukemia & Lymphoma Panel

Methodology: Flow cytometry

Specimen Required: Collect: Whole Blood EDTA (Original LAV Tube) or Bone Marrow 
Specimen Preparation: Send Original Lavender Tube; Bone Marrow - 1 ml (with maximum of 4 ml to prevent hemodilution of bone marrow) submitted in a LAV tube. 
Storage/Transport Temperature: If testing will occur in less than 8 hours, specimen must be handled and transported in a manner to assist in the maintenance of the specimen 18 & 25 degrees Celsius (Room temperature) prior to testing. If testing is expected to occur in greater than 8 hours, specimens must be handled and transported with cold packs to maintain specimens between 2 & 8 degrees Celsius (Refrigerated) prior to testing. Stability : Room Temperature: 8 hours; Refrigerated: 48 hours 
COMMENT: - The requirement for specimen COLLECTION DATE AND TIME must be documented with each specimen. 
                        - Be advised that some of the insurances will request Medical Record/Letter of Medical Necessity to support the Diagnosis codes provided.
