| Specimen Required: | Collect: Serum Separator Tube (SST) OR Lavender (EDTA) - 1 ml serum OR plasma
Specimen Preparation: Collect sample according to standard protocol. Gently invert tube immediately after draw. DO NOT SHAKE. Allow serum or plasma specimen to clot completely at room temperature . Centrifuge and separate serum or plasma from cells for 10 minutes. Transport plasma in a Standard Transfer Tube.
Storage/Transport Temperature: Refrigerated.
Causes for Rejection: Specimens other than SST or LAV EDTA ; samples not processed properly; samples older than stability limits
Stability: After separation from cells: Room Temperature: 1 week; Refrigerated: 1 week; Frozen: 21 days
